In using the site, all members agree to abide by the rules of the site and the NHW Community Village Terms and Conditions.. Posting instructions given by NHW Community Village must be followed. This ensures the site operates as intended. All members are asked to read the FAQ section prior to posting at the NHW Community Village.
NHW Community Village is 100% Internet based and relies on valid email addresses. All members are asked to please ensure their email address used is valid at all times.
Discussion HQ is monitored daily. Posts which break the rules of Discussion HQ can be edited or removed without warning, without explanation and will not be reposted.
Threads which have deteriorated into slanging matches or which are not relevant to NHW Community Village may be removed or locked at NHW Village's discretion. This also applies to slanging matches continued into other threads. Locked threads must not be restarted.
NHW Community Village is not to be used for personal or political soap-boxing and all posts must be worded in English. For the benefit of others, please try to keep to the subject matter of the thread you are following. Threads or posts appearing within a specific Forum Title but which are not related to that Forum Title may be moved to a different Forum Title or removed entirely at the discretion of NHW Community Village.
Any member who compromises the privacy or anonymity of other members or staff or who otherwise interferes with another member's quiet enjoyment of the site is not welcome at NHW Village.
The Rules of NHW Community Village Discussion HQ are as follows:
1. Our automated character limit is set at 3000 characters. Splitting posts exceeding this limit and/or posting in sequence may result in posts being removed. NHW Community Village seeks to cultivate member conversation in a manner that is not overly verbose.
2. Name calling and usernames that may offend or mislead have no place on this website. For your own privacy a username must be anonymous. A complete and valid name and contact details are required when signing up and thus recorded within My Profile. It is the member?s responsibility to keep their details current at all times.
3. Naming Individuals is not permitted. Politicians and public figures are the exception to this rule. However, NHW Community Village reserves the right to remove individuals’ names for any reason and without justification, including if asked to by the individual or company concerned. Posting of names, email/addresses, phone numbers and personal website addresses/directions/usernames is not permitted. NHW Community Village cannot pass email addresses & messages between members. Please do not ask. Posts asking/suggesting NHW Community Village to act as go-between will be removed.
4. Members who post messages deemed by NHW Community Village to be abusive, sexist, racist, religiously bigoted or otherwise obnoxious or offensive will have their posting(s) removed. You will not be notified. If you feel another member has attacked you, do not respond. For example, discussion of homosexuality is welcome. Expressions of hatred - see dictionary definition of homophobia - are not.
5. Spamming and deliberate misuse of the forums is not permitted. This includes repetitive posting. Posts containing excessive use of emoticons will be removed or edited.
6. Once submitted, posts will not be removed upon demand unless in breach of Discussion HQ Rules. It is unfair to remove your post if others have read or responded to the post. Members are urged to think carefully before posting to Discussion HQ. Members are advised to retain a copy of their post for future reference.
7a. Stalking - following members around NHW Community Village - and/or the harassment or baiting of members or staff of NHW Community Village is not permitted. Any post/thread considered to be deliberately antagonistic will be removed.
7b. Respect. A comment that may seem trivial to you can often be distressing for the member involved. All members have the right to air their comments without fear of ridicule.
8. Posts, emails or calls that threaten or are in any way intimidating, harassing or abusive towards NHW Community Village staff will not be tolerated. NHW Community Village staff will not enter into debates or arguments either on or off site. Email tag is unproductive. Respect again. If you have a complaint, simply send a polite email via Contact Us - General Enquiries. Abusive messages will be ignored.
9. Multiple user IDs are NOT permitted.
10. Revealing or posting of members’ and NHW Community Village staff & moderators personal details, including but not limited to, real names, and /or usernames, IDs, email addresses, personal website addresses and phone numbers - which are themselves confidential - is not permitted.
11. All correspondence and admin issues between NHW Community Village and members are considered private and are not to be posted or discussed on site. This includes the content of emails, letters and telephone conversations. NHW Community Village may at it's discretion post the outcome/update of any comments, ideas or questions posted on site when the outcome/update/eAlert result is submitted via email from the respective organisation source.
12.a. NHW Community Village can, at its discretion, place advertising and sponsorship through the forums or generally through the website. Members themselves are not permitted to place advertising or sponsorship themselves within forums, this includes advertising of websites.
12.b. Posts containing advertising, sponsorship or company contact details are not permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, internet sites, postal/email/street addresses and phone numbers. Members and organisations must not use the forums to solicit custom of any kind without permission from NHW Village. Any member wishing to offer a service to NHW Community Village members must first clear the offer through NHW Community Village via Contact Us > General Enquiries.
13. The posting of URL's and email addresses is not permitted. Please do not post account, case or reference numbers /codes.
14a. NHW State Executive and their representatives are welcome to post in Discussion HQ. They must, however, include their Title as part, or whole, of their NHW Community Village username when posting on behalf of the NHW State Executive. The Title username must be instantly identifiable.
14b. NHW State Executive and their representatives who wish to make contact with a member who has posted in Discussion HQ (discussion forums), should contact support@nhwvillage.org
14c. NHW State Executive and their representatives are not permitted to post their contact details. Posting of website and email addresses/phone numbers etc is not permitted. However, they may suggest members search for contact details for themselves eg YellowPages.
15. Deliberately defamatory or malicious comments are neither welcome nor permitted in any form.
16. Vulgar language, innuendo and/or obscenities are not permitted in the Discussion HQ forums.
17. Private forums are subject to the Forum Rules unless stated otherwise.
The rules regarding URL's apply to ALL URL's and are NOT negotiable. The removal or edit of postings is at the discretion of NHW Community Village management, without notice or debate. Posts that deliberately ignore NHW Community Village operational instructions will be removed. Reposting of removals is not permitted. The removal of member privileges is at the discretion of NHW Community Village management without notice or debate. NHW Community Village management reserves the right to suspend member privileges at any time without notice or debate.
These rules have evolved over a long period of time and are intended to keep NHW Community Village operational and family friendly. Attacking and arguing with NHW Community Village staff about the rules or decisions will not change them. Members who continually complain about the way NHW Community Village operates should not use the site.
